The Community of Lake Nona

Iconic Art

"Glass House" in Laureate Park Village Center is the most recent installation of Brooklyn-based Artist Tom Fruin's ICON series. The kaleidoscopic artwork gives a nod to overlooked landmarks and takes its cues from reclaimed urban design, American folk art and the spiritual qualities of stained glass.

Architectural Delights

Natural Wonders

Moss Park boasts over 1500 acres of natural family fun—everything from kayaking, boating, camping, canoeing, paddle boarding, hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking, bird-watching, and orienteering

Attractive Amenities

Proximity to world-class shopping, dining and services is a hallmark of the Lake Nona lifestyle. New spots like Canvas Restaurant & Market are popping up all over the Nonahood.

Healthy Collaborations

Medical City at Lake Nona is a future-forward mashup of health, education and sustainability that’s fueling investment and driving economic growth in the area.

The Lake Nona Community

Home to young professionals and families with children, Lake Nona is a community on the go. The area’s modern architecture, public art installations and hip eateries give it a cool factor, but its top-rated schools, planned community activities, varied residential options, and vibrant green spaces (“Parks on every corner, pools in every neighborhood”) make it a highly desirable place to live—especially to anyone working in Medical City, an emerging biomedical research and educational hub located in the heart of Lake Nona. The area’s health-oriented culture is a reflection of this hotbed of medical research and education. In addition to free wellness programming, residents enjoy over 44 miles of trails, world-class golfing, athletic parks, playgrounds and community gardens. With these amenities, it’s really no wonder Lake Nona is one of the fastest-growing communities in Florida—and the nation.

Lake Nona Real Estate

This is where things get a little sticky. Lake Nona is contained within two zip codes: 32832 and 32827. Tavistock Development Company is the developer behind the 7,000-plus acre mixed-use planned community known as Lake Nona. Protected by trademark, this development contains 10 neighborhoods, and features well-known landmarks such as Lake Nona Town Center and Medical City. Lake Nona area neighborhoods surround Tavistock’s development and blend seamlessly into the community fabric.

Real estate options currently include rentals, condos, warehouse flats and single-family homes. And the community’s first micro-apartments and age-restricted community are in the works—creating even more choice for home seekers.

Things to Do in Lake Nona

There’s no shortage of things to do in Lake Nona. In 2016, there were over 500 planned events in Tavistock’s planned community—everything from yoga to movies to food truck meet-ups. And if that’s not enough, Lake Nona offers 44 miles of trails, a bike-share program, pools, parks and community gardens to keep you busy. But also consider that Lake Nona is still a work in progress and there’s even more to come—like phase 2 of Lake Nona Town Center. There’s even an effort to bring a floating water park, five-story climbing tower, and cable-supported wake boarding facility to a man-made lake in Lake Nona’s planned community park.

Lake Nona Shopping and Dining

Like most planned communities, Lake Nona has a host of national chains and franchises that are settling into the neighborhood—but many are taking cues from Lake Nona’s innovative nature and offering a new twist. Lake Nona’s Walmart, for example, offers mobile scan & go shopping so you never have to wait in lines, pick-up service so you can scoop up groceries without leaving your car, and even has its own in-store organic restaurant, Grown. But there are also independent gems like Canvas Restaurant and Market and Chroma Bar + Kitchen in the mix with local chainlets like Jaca’s Barbershop and Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine.
